Csobánc nostalgia boat

The ship, named „Csobánc” was built in 1927 and immediately moved to Lake Balaton with its iron body, teak cover and electric lighting, which was the first diesel motor driven boat on Lake Balaton. As a popular boat of the high sociaty around Badacsony, it crossed the water of the lake in the middle of the century and it is still a popular member of the fleet of the Balaton Shipping Company.

In the second World War it was blown up by the retreating German troops. The ship was lifted out of the water that year and restored. The past is evoked by the original copper-clad compass adorned in the wheelhouse on the 60-person capacity ship. The bell in the bow of the vessel is also a patinated piece. As a member of the Balaton Shipping Company’s nostalgia fleet, he still travels and acquires many lasting memories and experiences for visitors at Lake Balaton. In 2017, the ship celebrated its 90^th birthday.

The main deck of the comfortable nostalgia boat is open, and an enclosed, nicely furnished cabin was constructed in the hull. Thanks to its open deck, it is excellent for cruising and for pleasure boat-trips. It awaits its passengers with high-quality passenger service and a drink bar.
