Tomaj catamaran

Construction of the ship started in 2021 at the Komárom shipyard in Slovakia and was delivered to Lake Balaton in the summer of 2023, after the new vessels started to be transported on the Danube thanks to favourable water levels. After final assembly, it was taken into the ownership and operation of BAHART at the end of 2023.

It was named after the town of Badacsonytomaj.

The catamaran is 11 metres wide and 35 metres long and can carry 350 passengers at a time between the coasts. It can also carry an additional 35 bicycles, which is significantly more than the capacity of the current vessels. Unique in Central Europe, it is equipped with engines that meet the latest environmental standards. Its construction is characterised by modern design and use of materials. The Tomaj catamaran is a unique prototype vessel designed for Lake Balaton. It has a multifunctional interior and a huge open upper deck.
